A turtle hatchery near Pemuteran looks after nests until the eggs hatch, between April and October. Once the hatchlings emerge there is a window of about twelve hours in which to release them.
If turtles are due to hatch during your stay, we arrange for you to be there when they go into the sea. The release is by donation, which funds the hatchery's work. When turtles are released from Gili Putih, a small island in the bay, a boat fee applies.
