Munduk is a village in the central highlands of Bali, where the air is cooler than on the coast and there are waterfalls in the surrounding hills.
It lies on one of the two routes to the north-west: the road from the south over the ridge at Bedugul, past the crater lakes. That makes it a natural place to stop on the way up from the south of Bali, or on the way back.
Within reach are the lake temple of Ulun Danu Beratan, the market at Bedugul, and the rice terraces of Jatiluwih, part of Bali's UNESCO-listed subak landscape. We arrange them as a day trip by private car from the north-west coast.

The highlands are cooler than the coast; bring a light jacket.
Entrance fees at the waterfalls, temples and rice terraces are paid on the day.
Munduk is about two and three quarter hours from the airport and two hours from Ubud, and about an hour and a half from Pemuteran. The route over the ridge at Bedugul passes the crater lakes and the hills around the village, so the waterfalls, the lake temple and the market can break the journey in either direction. We arrange stops on transfers: tell us when you enquire and we plan the route around them.
The central highlands day trip visits the waterfalls around Munduk, the lake temple of Ulun Danu Beratan and the market at Bedugul, then continues to Jatiluwih and returns by way of the hot springs. It takes about ten hours, leaving at 08:00. See the central highlands day trip.
Yes, on one of the two routes. The road from the south over the ridge at Bedugul passes the crater lakes and the hills around Munduk before dropping to the north coast. Munduk is about two and three quarter hours from the airport and an hour and a half from Pemuteran, so it breaks the journey well in either direction, and we arrange the stop as part of the transfer.
