Offering Making and Balinese Dance

Canang sari and a first dance lesson

Culture2 hoursEasyPemuteran

A Balinese dance performed in an open-air amphitheatre at dusk

Canang sari are the small palm-leaf offerings placed every day at temples, shrines and doorways across Bali. You learn to weave and fill one, and what each part of it means.

The second half is a lesson in the basic movements of Balinese dance: the hands, the eyes and the posture. Materials for the offering are included.
