Kayaking in the Bay

Kayaking in Sumberkima Bay and Banyuwedang

Boat & sea1 hourEasySumberkima, Banyuwedang

Two kayaks on the sheltered bay in front of the mangroves
A couple in a double kayak on calm water

The bays of the north-west coast are protected and calm, which makes them good for kayaking. In Sumberkima Bay you can paddle along the mangroves, past the fish farms and out to the white sand of Gili Putih, with the mountains of Bali on one side and the volcanoes of Java on the other.

Kayaks are doubles, and a guide can come with you. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times, and the wind and current can pick up while you are out. Bring water, sun protection and a dry bag for your phone.
